Forthcoming immigration rules changes in April 2024
We have already warned readers about significant forthcoming changes in the immigration rules in April 2024, specifically a large increase in the minimum salaries for many categories of Skilled Workers (on 4 April) and also a large increase in the minimum earnings requirement for sponsors under Appendix FM (on 11 April).
But not only this: there is yet another change in the rules for settlement based on ten years’ continuous lawful residence, also coming into effect on 11 April. From that date, applicants must have held leave in their current category for at least 12 months when they apply; this is no doubt rather going to mess up some people’s plans.
