Apply for a UK Investor Visa (Tier 1)

For the initial application the Tier 1 Investor visa applicant needs to show that they have at least £2 million to invest which is under your control. You also need to show that you hold a UK bank account.
After you have acquired the initial visa the Tier 1 Investor visa applicant must subsequently show that they have invested the funds into a UK-registered company (ies) either by way of loan capital or share capital.
If you invest £2 million you can potentially acquire settlement in five years; if you invest £5 million you can potentially acquire it in three years; and if you invest £10 million you can potentially acquire it in two years.
The visa is initially granted for three years or three years and a bit, so an extension visa application may or may not be necessary, depending on the length of the route.
Unlike many other types of visa, there is no English language requirement until the applicant reaches the settlement stage.
Dependants can apply for visas along with the main Tier 1 visa applicant.
Applicants can apply from outside the UK or, if they hold appropriate immigration leave, from within the UK.
Requirements for Tier 1 Investor Visa
The applicant must produce the right documents to show that they meet the requirements for the Tier 1 Investor visa for the UK some of them are shown below:
- Be 18 or over
- Hold the right sort of bank account
- Genuinely hold sufficient funds under their control
- Where relevant, that the funds have been invested appropriately in the UK
- Criminal record certificate is required
The earliest you can apply for a Tier 1 Investor visa is 3 months before you travel. The processing time for the visa is 3 weeks.
Please note this visa does not have English language requirement to be met.
