Apply for an eVisa to Enter or Stay in the UK

The eVisa scheme allows eligible individuals to apply online for permission to visit, work, study, or reside in the UK. It simplifies the immigration process by digitising visa applications. Discover how to apply, eligibility criteria, and important tips to ensure a successful application.

What is an eVisa?

An eVisa is an online visa application system that allows you to apply for permission to enter or stay in the UK without the need for a physical visa or a BRP card. Once approved, the eVisa is digitally linked to your passport.

Who Needs to Apply for an eVisa?

The eVisa is available to almost all migrants in the UK. Once granted, new entry clearance visa applications are being issued with the eVisa anyway. If you are in the UK and hold a BRP card (Biometrics Residence Permit), you may have noticed that your BRP card expires on 31 December 2024. You must apply for eVisa before the deadline of 31 December 2024.

You need to apply for an eVisa if you are inside the UK on any of the following visa routes:

  • Spouse visa / Unmarried Partner Visa / Civil Partner Visa / Adult Dependent Visa / Child Visa / Parent Visa
  • Skilled Worker Visa / Skilled Worker Dependent Visa / Student Visa / Student Dependent Visa / Youth Mobility Visa
  • Innovator Founder Visa / Global Talent Visa / UK Expansion Visa / Seole Representative Visa / Investment Visa
  • Indefinite Leave to Remain
  • Ukraine Visa Scheme
  • UK Ancestry Visa
  • Private Life Visa

– No need to carry physical visa documents.

– Instant verification through your passport number.

– Faster approval process compared to traditional visas.
